For the past seven years, the people of Syria have been suffering the devastating consequences of war with no end in sight.
A staggering 13.1 million people across Syria are in urgent need of humanitarian aid, including more than five million children.
Three million people are living in besieged areas without access to humanitarian aid and the total number of displaced Syrians has risen to 11.5 million.
Urgent need for humanitarian aid in Idlib
Amid reports of airstrikes in Idlib, Islamic Relief warns of an impending humanitarian disaster in the northern Syrian region. At least five people have been killed, with several families reported to be still under the rubble following the airstrikes.
With recent reports suggesting that 70% of the population in Idlib are relying on food assistance to survive, the situation will only deteriorate should a new wave of conflict arise.
Islamic Relief is scaling up on medical support, increasing deliveries of food parcels and key staples like flour, while also helping those who have been displaced by providing tents and shelters.
People urgently need food, shelter, and access to decent healthcare, clean water and sanitation.
Despite the ongoing escalation in hostilities, our work in Syria continues, providing vital assistance to these vulnerable people.
